Products shipped from our store in Japan may be subject to import duties and taxes upon arrival. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
1. Customs Duty
- Many products such as MC/MM cartridges, Tonearms, Headshells and Turntable Parts have low or zero customs duty when shipped to Europe, Canada, and Australia.
- For the United States, customs duty may apply, typically around 15% depending on the product and HS code.
- For the United Kingdom, the estimated customs duty is approximately 2.5%.
2. Taxes Equivalent to Consumption Tax
- European Union (EU): VAT (Value Added Tax) applies, usually around 20% (varies by country). It is calculated on the total of product price + shipping + customs duty.
- United Kingdom: VAT 20% applies. Tax is calculated on product price + shipping + customs duty.
- Canada: GST/HST applies, ranging from 5–15% depending on the province. Tax is calculated on product price + shipping.
- Australia: GST (Goods and Services Tax) 10% applies. Tax is calculated on product price + shipping + customs duty (if any).
- Even if customs duty is zero, the total taxes may reach 10–20% of the order value.
3. Payment
- VAT, GST, HST, and other taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
- Carriers may collect taxes and duties upon delivery.
